Who are we?
Straight Talk Communications was a well-known name and premise for Mobile Phones in Wicklow Down for over 10 years. Opening our first shop in Wicklow town in 1998. Straight Talk was an independent outlet selling products for the then networks Eircell & Digifone. In 2000 we opened a second outlet in nearby Arklow Co. Wicklow. In 2009 we closed the Arklow store due to the downturn in the economy.
2011 we opened an Eir network store in Gorey and in 2012 moved location in Wicklow Town and also switched that to an eir store. In 2017 both stores were purchased on behalf of eir and Straight Talk exited the retail market.
NOW WE ARE BACK but moving it the times of now and launching an online store. Initially, we will be selling new and pre-owned Apple iPhones but will be adding more products in the future as we grow. With over 21 years of experience in the phone industry, we strive towards premium quality products & service while keeping our products very competitively priced.
Every phone is unlocked meaning that you simply need to insert your sim card regardless of network and it will work. You won’t have to change your plan or phone number.

Which courier service do you use?
Fastways – We currently offer a flat rate of €4.95 shipping nationwide. We currently offer FREE Delivery on all purchases over the value of €50. All deliveries are tracked and this tracking number will be provided once your order is dispatched.
How long is the warranty?
Your handset is warranted against any defect or malfunctioning which may occur in conditions of normal use during the warranty period of twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. Read full details of our included warranty HERE
What is supplied with the handset?
Generic box, handset and charging cable.
What does refurbished mean?
Straight Talk purchase our iPhones from reputable sources. All of our handsets are checked using the industry-standard Checkmend service. When we receive handsets, we check each unit thoroughly, testing all system functions including:
• battery life
• charging functionality
• voice comms
• WiFi, Bluetooth & GPS connectivity
• speakers
• home, power and volume buttons
• touchscreen
• front + rear cameras
• headphone jack
• vibrate functions
• USB connectivity
After passing our testing procedure, we clean each handset using an anti-bacterial solution and placed into secure storage ready for purchasing.
Used items are products that have been returned and deemed fit for resale at a reduced price. Functionality has been tested to ensure the product is working and is completely safe to use. The condition of each item is checked and cleaned.
SIM FREE / Factory Unlocked what does it mean?
This simply means you can use any network SIM card, either Pay As You Go (PAYG) or a contract SIM card. Our SIM FREE / Factory Unlocked handsets will work with any SIM card, Worldwide.
How do I know I am buying a legitimate handset?
All of our handsets are checked with the CheckMEND service. The CheckMEND system searches datasets that contain more than 50 billion serial numbered items of property and is the most reliable method of ensuring goods are legitimate – a fact supported by its near-ubiquitous use in the phone recycling industry to aid in compliance with the Recyclers Code of Practice.
I’ve accidentally damaged my iPhone. Can you fix it?
Yes, we can get a competitive quote for your repair from our repair partners.
Does my refurbished product come complete with an Apple box?
No – we supply your habdset in a generic box with cable.
